The VP & Head of Marketing, Americas is responsible for leading market development and marketing strategy in the Americas Region. Working closely with Regional Sales & Marketing resources and other key stakeholders, the role is responsible for driving achievement of new orders, profitability and market share growth targets for the product solutions portfolio through the development and execution of market development & growth strategies, commercial excellence, marketing operations including programs & campaigns and sales enablement initiatives. The role will also be responsible for identifying & developing growth opportunities in specific market segments, key accounts, direct & indirect sales channels and other revenue streams. Leading the Regional Marketing team in Americas entails customer segmentation & targeting, strategic pricing & positioning, marketing planning, product positioning, product expert support & sales enablement, alignment with clinical marketing as well as driving commercialization and new product introduction (launch) of new products/solutions/services to market in the Region as well as life cycle management in close collaboration with the respective global business line management partners. The role will also be responsible for leading and consolidating the voice of the region & voice of the customer and to articulate and ensure these needs are heard and reflected by the relevant Global partners in their annual and mid / long term strategy plans to support the continued growth of the region.

Responsibilities-

  • Work closely with the Sales & Marketing VPs, Sales Directors and the key stakeholders in different product lines to devise effective marketing & market development strategies in the Americas region to achieve new order budgets as well as profitability and market share targets for each product line.

  • Work closely with Sales & Marketing teams to identify business development opportunities and development or optimization of revenue streams to drive growth in the Region.

  • Partner closely with global business line management teams to co-create and provide core product marketing assets to the sales teams that support effective product positioning

  • Work closely with sales operations to manage deal escalation & implement pricing strategy to achieve ASP/price realization and profitability targets and monitoring and evaluating KPI’s of the implementation of key commercial strategies

  • Segmentation and targeting – guide sales teams to better understand and more effectively target key market segments and customer / stakeholder personas by providing tools to communicate high-level business requirements for each product or service corresponding to each relevant group.

  • Develop market expertise and insights using customer segmentation and personas - translate trends into actionable commercial marketing opportunities, lead the team in developing competitive advantages, and leverage competitive intelligence for strategic business plans (including pricing, feature priorities, portfolio planning)

  • New Product Introduction and Commercialization - drive go-to-market marketing plans for new product releases and coordinate regional and local launches to preserve consistency and maximize impact

  • Manage market and competitor FDA’s (facts, diagnosis, action). Consolidate and translate market and competitive dynamics & trends for the Regional Sales & Marketing teams and provide strategic guidance to drive key opportunities and counteract emerging threats.

  • Sales activation & enablement - Design and deliver information, content and tools in a prescriptive manner that aligns to the buyer’s journey (sales playbook, demo, target customer lists, etc.). Lead sales & product training for direct and indirect sales teams as well as other relevant cross-functional partners.

  • Understand and report competitive dynamics and market shifts to broader team and provide strategic direction to tackle competitive threats with the help of the commercial marketing team. Create & manage competitive battle cards for top tier and emerging competitors

  • Voice of the market – understanding and analyzing customer needs and communicating success criteria upstream to business partners. Gather feedback from sales on use cases, selection criteria and functionality required to improve win rate in the market.

  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences.

  • Complete various marketing projects at the request of Sales & Marketing SVP.

  • Manage and distribute the marketing communications throughout the region including development and deployment of social media and e-commerce strategies and tactics.

  • Ensure all marketing and communications activity is correctly complied as per Brand guidelines and is in line with Guidelines.

  • Lead development, consolidation and execution of marketing activities, events and exhibitions according to the annual marketing budget and plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (clinical or business oriented) or equivalent knowledge acquired through business experience.

  • At least 5+ years of marketing experience, preferred.

  • Successful sales, marketing and negotiation experience. Capital medical equipment sales and marketing experience is highly meritorious.

  • Solid knowledge and experience of the medical devices industry, experience in Radiation Oncology & Neuroscience clinical environment is preferred.

  • Strong leadership and effective team performance development capabilities across a culturally diverse and dynamic environment

  • Knowledge of general Americas Healthcare markets and Elekta’s products, solutions & services.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Skilled speaker and representative in social contacts.

  • Strong multi-tasker and experience covering a broader region (along with all the travel it requires).

  • Fluency in English is required, preferably also other languages relevant to the Region.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer tools / IT skills. Digital marketing proficiency is a plus.

  • Ability to work autonomously.

  • Excellent team player at all levels and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong knowledge/understanding of Elekta's product portfolios.

  • Demonstrated strong business comprehension and acumen.

  • Strong in building and maintaining customer focus and customer relationships.

  • Results oriented, operative with excellent analytical skills.

  • Strong ethical standards, values and good judgement.

  • Persistent, enduring and prepared to make strong personal commitments.

The US base salary range for this position is $215,320 - $269,150
