Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Vice President, Inside Sales to join our investment banking firm and lead our inside sales team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales leadership within the financial services industry, preferably in investment banking. You will be responsible for managing and growing the inside sales team, developing calling campaigns to deliver new meetings for our senior salespeople, and ensuring the team meets activity and performance goals. This role requires a combination of leadership skills, financial industry understanding and sales acumen.

This is an exciting opportunity to become a founding member of our newly formed Private Company Coverage Group (PCCG) and play a critical role in the creation and development of a new division within Lincoln International.

Role & Responsibilities

  1. Team Leadership and Management:
    • Lead, motivate, and manage the inside sales team to achieve sales targets.
    • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure a high-performing sales team.
    • Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, setting individual and team objectives aligned with company goals.
  2. Sales Strategy and Execution:
    • Oversee the team’s efforts in prospecting, qualifying leads, and arranging introductory meetings with C-level executives of private companies across a variety of industry sectors.
    • Collaborate with industry bankers on market mapping, campaign strategies, and creating relevant collateral.
    • Monitor key sales metrics and KPIs, adjusting strategies to enhance team performance.
  3. Client Relationship Management:
    • Ensure the team builds and maintains strong relationships with the outside sales team.
    • Partner with senior bankers and other internal stakeholders to drive business development and deepen prospect relationships.
    • Collaborate with the research team to develop calling campaigns.
  4. Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
    • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts and regular reports on team performance and sales activity to senior leadership.
    • Analyze sales data and trends to inform strategy and optimize team performance.
    • Collaborate with leadership to set sales goals and performance benchmarks.
  5. Recruitment and Training:
    • Participate in recruiting and hiring top-tier inside sales representatives with financial services expertise.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure the team is well-versed in investment banking, financial markets, and sales processes.
    • Continuously enhance the team’s knowledge of the financial services industry.

Qualifications

  • FINRA Series 79 or 7, Series 63, and SIE, or willingness to take and pass these exams within 3 months of start date.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in inside sales or sales leadership within investment banking, financial services, or a related industry.
  • Strong track record of managing sales teams, achieving targets, and driving growth in a competitive market.
  • Understanding of investment banking products and services, including capital raising, M&A, debt and equity financing, and advisory services.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and utilize CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to track leads and performance.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

Lincoln International is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status.

This is a full-time position, with the ability to work remotely.

The salary range for this role is $115,000-$125,000 on an annual basis. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. 

This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
