Responsibilities include developing a financial technology roadmap, managing technical delivery, improving processes, evaluating the technology stack, and overseeing system operations.
Summary Generated by Built In

MongoDB’s mission is to empower innovators to create, transform, and disrupt industries by unleashing the power of software and data. We enable organizations of all sizes to easily build, scale, and run modern applications by helping them modernize legacy workloads, embrace innovation, and unleash AI. Our industry-leading developer data platform, MongoDB Atlas, is the only globally distributed, multi-cloud database and is available in more than 115 regions across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Atlas allows customers to build and run applications anywhere—on premises, or across cloud providers. With offices worldwide and over 175,000 new developers signing up to use MongoDB every month, it’s no wonder that leading organizations, like Samsung and Toyota, trust MongoDB to build next-generation, AI-powered applications.

The Vice President of Finance Technology is a trusted business partner responsible for technical delivery to support the Finance Organization, drive operational excellence, innovate, and deliver business results at MongoDB. You have a deep knowledge of financial operations processes as well as finance technology and architecture. You will lead a global, growing team of approximately 18 resources composed of business systems analysts, engineers, administrators, and solution architects who look after the Finance technology stack as well as the Robotic Processing Automation solutions. The team is distributed across the United States and India.

You have seen what “good” looks like at scale in terms of both processes and technology. You are a creative thinker, collaborative, a problem solver, and you find ways to continuously improve. You challenge the status quo and do not accept the answer, “because it has always been this way”, while supporting executives in making challenging and complex decisions that enable MongoDB to achieve strategic objectives.

This role can be based out of our New York City, Palo Alto, or San Francisco offices or remotely in the United States region.

  • Develop an organizational approach to balance the speed provided by a distributed technology support model with the efficiency of a centralized model
  • Continuously evaluate the technology stack to determine where to build, buy/customize, replace
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing global talent, and ensure they have deep knowledge of our end-to-end financial operations practices. Eliminate any single points of knowledge

  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure our control environment is efficient and effective
  • Scale finance technology to support a larger, more complex Finance function

  • Manage technology operations to ensure system uptime, performance, and data quality
  • Partner with key vendors to ensure best-in-class system implementations, including appropriate levels of customization and integration
  • Pay down existing technical debt in finance platforms and prevent additional debt from accumulating without oversight and a plan to pay down in the future
  • Implement project metrics to hold teams accountable

Qualifications
