Job Summary:

The Derivatives Trading Operations Team is responsible for keeping the Hong Kong derivatives market open. With a broad range of contracts traded by many of the world most prominent institutions, our job is to keep the market operating in a transparent, fair and orderly fashion. Doing so requires a strong team of dedicated and talented professionals with quick thinking, excellent judgement and abilities to handle trading issues quickly while operating within the rules and regulations that keep the market fair and orderly.
With our ongoing major investment to revamp our trading platform, we have an exciting senior opportunity for the right individual to lead our day shift team, help shape the next generation trading platform and move our trading environment forward.

Job Duties:

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daytime operations of the derivatives exchange to ensure smooth operation of the exchange and resolve any issues that exchange participants may encounter.
• Ensure smooth production handover to the evening shift
• Handle contingency in a timely manner, enforce proper escalation procedure and practice, and act according to established policies and protocol
• Drive operational excellence by continuous improvement of our tools, processes, rules and policies.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for the implementation of new products and initiatives
• Keep abreast of the latest international trends on regulatory development related to derivatives market operations
• Build strong relationships with relevant statutory bodies, industry associations and market participants

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Finance, Economics or related disciplines; strong IT project experience a distinct advantage
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience of which at least 5 years at the management level of well-established financial institutions;
• Strong knowledge of the derivatives products, market practices and regulations, and the trading platform; Exposure to a variety of derivatives products and their trade life cycle and risk management an advantage;
• Strong interpersonal, communication and people management skills with proven ability to handle time critical situations, ability to multi task and adjust effectively to changing priorities;
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua an advantage
