What we’re looking for:
The Vice President of Clean Energy Deployment (CED) Operations is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing five critical operational domains: Pre-Deployment, Estimation, Commercial Operations, Workforce Compliance, and Operational Improvement. This role ensures seamless organizational integration and execution to meet company-wide objectives for project delivery, profitability, and scalability. A key responsibility of the role is identifying and mitigating early-stage project risks while driving alignment across internal teams to support increased throughput of projects reaching Substantial Completion. The Vice President will champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence, leveraging data, automation, and best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle. This position demands a dynamic leader with the ability to influence and inspire both direct reports and cross-functional teams outside their immediate span of control. The successful candidate will be adept at motivating high-performing teams, optimizing estimation and scheduling accuracy, and integrating value engineering strategies to improve project margins and timelines.
We are accepting candidates across our hub offices of Boston, MA and Chicago, IL where you will be hybrid 3 days a week. You will report to the SVP, Clean Energy Deployment.
What you’ll do:
- Direct four major functional areas within Clean Energy Deployment (CED) Operations: Pre-Deployment, Estimation, Commercial Operations, Workforce Compliance. Provide strategic oversight and ensure teams are resourced, supported, and aligned to deliver on key business goals.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team across all functional areas within CED Operations. Set clear performance expectations, provide regular coaching and feedback, support career growth, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the pre-construction phase of clean energy projects, ensuring effective planning, estimating, and scheduling that incorporates risk assessments. Collaborate closely with Nexamp Portfolio Operations to guide projects to successful mobilization.
- Provide comprehensive oversight for contract lifecycle management, including contract negotiation, claims resolution, change order processing, and support for vendor and contractor onboarding. Work in collaboration with Business Development and Channel teams for procurement support.
- Guide and mentor all the teams to ensure accurate, data-driven, and competitive pricing. Ensure robust cost tracking and integrated scheduling systems are in place. Emphasize digitization of workflows to enable scalable operations.
- Oversee project-specific wage compliance, including certified payroll, prevailing wage adherence, and other labor reporting requirements based on regional mandates. Ensure consistent compliance across all deployment operations.
- Partner with Business Development, Legal, Finance, Channel teams, and CED leadership to develop and refine operational processes and tools that reduce project risk and enhance execution efficiency.\Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders to align project planning and execution with requirements for securing debt and tax equity financing, ensuring readiness for investment.
- Champion a lean, results-driven operational culture focused on high productivity and integration across internal and external teams. Drive process simplification and remove bottlenecks to support seamless execution.
What you’ll bring:
- At least 5-8 years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams, including 3+ years in senior leadership roles with direct accountability for team performance, cross-functional collaboration, and organizational culture.
- 8 years solar and/or storage field operations at DG and/or utility scale level
- 8 years cross-functional project leadership
- 5 years of hands-on experience in continuous process improvement
- Preferred: Technical (Engineering, Operations Management, Mathematics, Science) master’s degree from an accredited university.
- Preferred: DG and Utility Scale operational experience
- Preferred: PV and/or storage Project Manager role
- Preferred: Strategic planning and implementation
- Preferred: Experienced or certified in Quality or Process Excellence methodologies
- Team player who can collaborate in developing strategies and provide forward thinking solutions

- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.

- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.

- Previous experience engaging and inspiring teams to excel while focusing on the growth and well-being of team members.

Compensation
The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $200,000 - $230,000. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans). Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Company’s stock option plan. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, skills and qualifications, internal equity, performance, and geographic location.
