As a Valves Design Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for design and technical documentation activities for our control valve products. Collaborating with multiple sales engineers and suppliers you will ensure quality control and on-time delivery. You will be working on projects that includes valve design, manufacturing and testing. Enjoying opportunities to convert new technology ideas into products you’ll introduce innovations to an already pioneering business.
As a Valves Design Mechanical Engineer , you will also be responsible for:
- Executing design and analysis of assigned projects to develop valves meeting customer application needs, specification requirements, complying with local design/product standards.
- Reviewing customer specifications and “translating” customer specification in to order instructions for manufacturing of valves.
- Providing Retrofit solutions, with bills of material, drawing information, test specifications and processing instructions to meet quality and manufacturing requirements.
- Creating the design review process, ensuring accuracy, quality and design for manufacturability goals are met.
- Enabling the use of design tools (like 2D / 3D CAD (SolidWorks / ProE / UG), Excel, and in-house design calculations.
- Engaging with sales to support the quotation activities.
- Identifying, Own and Enable such initiatives which are in line with business objectives
- Serves as the technical leader/manager to develop a scope of work and plan schedule and monitor engineering activities for customer projects. Provide technical leadership and interface with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, Baker Hughes Product Engineering, Sourcing, Engineering sub-contractors.
- Executes routine analyses using vested methods and technologies and/or contributes to technological developments in teams under supervision.
- Works together with people from the business unit. Contacts are under guidance and/or geared towards collecting or giving technical information.
- Works within a team setting and / or under guidance. Alternatively: executing routine but complex analysis.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- Have 2-5 years of Valves Design Mechanical Engineering
- Be proficient in SolidWorks or similar Computer Aided Design software
- Possess knowledge of basic mechanical engineering design principles
- Have knowledge of geometric dimension and tolerance as it relates to individual parts and overall assemblies
- Have good oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Be able to work independently and have good problem-solving skills.
