Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Valuations Specialist will report to the Valuations Manager in the R&C Operations Department. This role is responsible for facilitating alternative asset valuation updates through implementation and administration of the reconciliation system and manual processing. The incumbent will work closely with investment sponsors, clients, and various internal departments to resolve any issues that arise. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask while also being detail oriented, flexible, and analytical.• Facilitate asset valuation updates through implementation and administration of the TRecs reconciliation system • Complete assigned TRecs implementation tasks in a timely manner to ensure that the project progresses, and follow-through with any ongoing responsibilities• Review and record alternative asset valuation updates, which includes analyzing sponsor statements and reconciling activity to the Trust Accounting System to identify and resolve differences• Research and resolve complex valuation issues• Monitor past due alternative asset valuations and assist with periodic and year-end valuation mailings to sponsors and clients • Ensure all processing consistently meets established service levels and is done with a high degree of accuracy• Create and maintain written operating procedures related to assigned functions• Actively share ideas to improve department processes and efficiencies• Other duties as assigned
Typical schedule for this position is Monday to Friday from 8 am CT to 4:30 pm CT, with 1 to 2 weekends per quarter. This position needs to be able to come into the Oak Brook, IL office as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Years of Experience: • 1-3 years of experience . Degree: • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field . Certification: N/A . Skills & Abilities: • Ability to be detail-oriented, organized and dependable• Possess a strong aptitude for numbers and reconciliations• Operate efficiently, with a high degree of accuracy and follow-through• Proven ability to both prioritize and manage multiple tasks to completion• Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure• Proactive and analytical, able to problem-solve and propose solutions• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills• Operate with a high sense of responsibility and conscientiousness in delivering results• Optimistic with a consistently positive and flexible attitude• Demonstrated computer aptitude and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook• Ability to maintain the highest quality of service • IRA knowledge and experience with alternative investments and data archival systems preferred
