Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Support Manager / Technical Support Engineer to provide critical technical support to customers in the United States, including architects, installers, and internal teams. In this role, you are ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of technical services, including material estimations, shop drawing coordination, technical guidance, and occasional job site inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Estimation and Coordination:
- Review architectural drawings to determine the quantity of materials required for a project.
- Identify and address any discrepancies or errors in the project drawings to avoid miscalculations.
- Collaborate with the Sales Administration team to prepare and send accurate material quantities for quotes.
Shop Drawing Coordination:
- Ensure that clients provide the correct and complete information for shop drawings.
- Work closely with the drafting team to initiate drawing creation and update material quantities as needed.
- Communicate with clients to confirm the material list and address any questions regarding specifications or quantities.
- Track payments to drafters and maintain records of payments.
- Coordinate with the fabrication department to ensure that cutting and drilling tasks align with the finalized shop drawings.
Technical Support for Architects and Installers:
- Assist architects in selecting the appropriate specifications for our products, ensuring that designs align with both the architectural intent and our technical capabilities.
- Provide technical advice to installers to facilitate proper installation and handling of our products.
Job Site Inspections:
- Conduct on-site inspections related to installation kick-offs or claims to ensure proper product installation and compliance with specifications.
- Prepare detailed reports following each inspection, documenting observations, issues, and recommendations for resolution.
- Address any site-specific concerns, escalating issues to the relevant teams or departments as needed.
Technical Department Internal Tasks:
- Collaborate with the technical teams at our headquarters in Spain to facilitate installation system certifications and to discuss the development of new technical solutions.
- Participate in monthly meetings with the technical advisory team to provide insights and support on ongoing developments.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or related field. Relevant certifications or technical training is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical support role within the architectural, construction, or manufacturing industry, preferably with a focus on wood-based materials or facades.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of architectural drawings, material estimation, and construction specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to identify and address technical challenges.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with architects, customers, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction codes and standards is a plus.
- Proficiency in: AutoCAD, MS Lists, Bluebeam, Excel.
- Language: English (Fluent) required; Spanish (a plus, but not required).
Additional Information:
- Travel: Occasional travel required for site visits, project coordination, and meetings with clients and internal teams.
- Work Environment: Full-Time in Woodstock, GA Office
