The Underwriting Assistant will assist in the issuance of policies and documenting files in the policy operating system and support the underwriting team with correspondence, notes and documents.
This role will work a hybrid schedule in our Charlotte or Atlanta office.
Responsibilities:
- Support retail agents in gathering information/documents using tasks/reminders and Outlook.
- Inspection ordering, review and discrepancy/recommendation handling
- Processing Binds and Invoices
- Processing Cancellation and Reinstatement Notices
- Processing all Endorsements
- Processing Pre-Audit Correspondence; Closed Even Audits and Premium Bearing Audits
- Claims reporting and confirmations
- Gradually learn the renewal quote process in development of underwriting skills for the future
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of Commercial Insurance background with an emphasis on Property, Casualty and GL.
- Strong customer service skills to our internal and external customers.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team and uphold high service standards
- Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
