Our Dredging and Offshore vessels are highly technological equipment. The Trencher Supervisor is responsible on his/her shift to supervise and to instruct his/her team, the Cable Burial Tool operators, Riggers and assisting Engineers in performing all duties necessary for the safe cable burial operation as well as ensuring that the activities are conducted according to the task plans and procedures. You work on board one of our off-shore cable laying vessels.Your responsibilities

You actively support DEME QHSE Policies and values.

You ensure that DEME safety and operational procedures are adhered to, and that the statutory legislation is complied with, ensuring the continued safety of the work.

You actively participate in JSA (Job Safety Analysis), Toolbox talks and safety briefings, conducting job safety analysis when required prior to or during your shift.

You participate in HIRA meetings.

You perform or supervise Cable Burial Operations.

You liaise with OIM, Technical Equipment Specialist, Field Engineer(s), Operators, Survey, Chief Engineer, Trenching Rock and Landfall Engineering Department and Trenching Experts in relation to the CBT and associated procedures for that, or any other project specific burial equipment to fulfil the scope of work.

You understand the project scope of work for the Cable Burial and review all project specific Cable Burial documentation.

You actively lead the cable burial operations of the Trencher Operators,

You assist Engineers, Welders and other technicians during the operation and maintenance of the CBT on the vessel.

You assist the TES in maintenance of the CBT, both off and on shore, including spare and consumables management.

You ensure that the cable burial works are performed in a safe and proper manner, in line with all relevant task plans, procedures and applicable regulations.

You ensure that all works and offshore cable burial operations are conducted within the criteria defined within the weather policies.

You provide information to OIM, TES and field engineers to aid in continually optimizing production.

You assist TES in the training of the CBT Operators.

You assist TES in the improvement program of the CBT.

You assure the operational condition of the cable burial activity.

You supervise directly and hands-on, all cable burial operations. In case of loss of control or malfunction of any part of equipment you will instruct members of your team to operate equipment locally.

You delegate daily tasks and objectives based on the program of work.

You ensure that only certified rigging and or lifting equipment & materials are used by your team for any deck operations.

You prepare assessments/evaluations for the Operators.

You assist the TES in mobilization & demobilization and project preparations.

You keep the OIM fully updated on any safety related matters on your shift.

You keep the TES fully updated on any changes regarding the operational status of the CBT and or project specific burial equipment on your shift.

You provide information and/or instructions to the Trench Operators.

You liaise with the OIM and TES to all-stop SIMOPS when deemed necessary and prioritize main cable burial activities.

You stimulate a cooperative and healthy working atmosphere on board.
Your profile

Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems (MBO Level 4 or HBO)

Knowledge of Electronics (MBO Level 4 or HBO)

By preference, you have some work experience in the maritime/offshore field

You are communicative and problem solving
