Treasury Manager at Mukuru Financial Services Zimbabwe

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily cash flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs and investment opportunities.
- Develop and implement investment strategies to optimize returns on surplus funds while maintaining appropriate risk levels.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial risks associated with liquidity, foreign exchange, interest rates, and other market variables.
- Manage the institution's funding requirements and maintain effective relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
- Monitor and manage the institution’s capital structure, ensuring cost-effective use of funds.
- Prepare and present periodic treasury and liquidity reports for senior management and regulators.
- Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the institution's assets and integrity of financial data.
- Liaise with auditors and regulators during reviews and audits
Qualifications and Skills
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as CA, CFA, or ACCA are highly desirable.
- At least 5 years of experience in treasury management, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Working in a multinational group/fintech space
- Strong Microsoft Office skills essential.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of accounting principles
- Knowledge of exchange control
- Good organisational skills – ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Commercial cash and debt facility management experience
- Strong understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and risk management principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions based on financial data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Familiarity with treasury systems and tools and proven experience in a corporate treasury function
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
