WORK HOURS Monday – Friday, 7am through 3pm
Full Time Team members work 8-hour shifts for 40 hours per week. Shift times may vary, and extra hours may be added to your schedule to ensure we fulfill our commitments to customers.
This is a Seasonal position until mid-June with potential to convert to a full-time regular position based on attendance, productivity and availability of positions.
Peak Season (January - June) Requirements
- Mandatory overtime may include some Saturdays and Sundays.

Varsity Spirit, A Varsity Achievement Brand, is looking to hire Seasonal Trapping & Imposition Operator. As a member of the Varsity Yearbook Kansas City Yearbook team, you will be responsible for Impose pages to imposition layouts for plates and printing. Test new methodologies of efficient printing methods. Check pages to ensure quality products. Assist supervisor with production improvements.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Impose finished pages in proper format for printing on press.
- Review quality of pages.
- Assist supervisor with production trend monitoring.
- Assist supervisor with efficiency methods.
- Test new technologies in workflows.
- Assist other departments in maintaining quality.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES

- LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Greater than 2 years of experience with Prinergy, Rampage, Esko or similar workflow software.
- Greater than 2 years of experience with Preps, Fast Impose, Mextrix or similar Imposition software.
- Complete knowledge of offset printers, digital printers, trapping, proofing, and imposition.
- Strong knowledge of prepress and printing technology, including digital imposition.
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office programs.
- Graphic design experience a plus.
- Detail oriented and takes pride in completing projects accurately and on time.
- Excels at managing competing deadlines and uses experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
- Ability to create, modify, and understand impositions for a sheetfed, web offset or digital press.
- The ability to QC print files and print jobs to insure that they are set up efficiently for press and meet customer's expectations.
- Ability to make content proofs, contract proofs, soft proofs, or printing plates as requested.
- Previous success maintaining a strong attendance and on time record
