Job Description
The Transportation Specialist is responsible for overseeing daily transportation requirements, ensuring seamless logistics operations, and achieving cost efficiency. This role involves managing transportation schedules, creating and issuing Freight Shipping Documents (FSDs) for trucks and container vans, reviewing and validating transportation costs, preparing and analyzing freight cost reports, and performing accurate freight costing to support business objectives.
Returns Management

Oversee the end-to-end process of returns to ensure efficient handling and timely resolution

Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to address return-related concerns

Analyze trends in returns and recommend improvements to minimize return rates
Transport Incident Management

Monitor transport operations to identify incidents such as delays, damages, or losses during transit

Address and resolve transport issues promptly in collaboration with carriers and internal teams
-
Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to mitigate recurring incidents

Initiates investigation of delivery / shipment incident and submit assessment report on-time
Cost Management and Control

Monitor and manage the costs associated with product returns, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals

Develop strategies to minimize return-related expenses while maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction

Provide cost analysis and recommendations to improve overall cost control in reverse logistics
Transport Service Performance Management

Process accreditation of new service providers and ensures compliance to accreditation requirements

Monitors and reviews validity of service agreements and/or contracts, permits and licenses

Maintains updated service provider database
-
Ensure to perform regular service provider performance evaluation
-
Track and evaluate transport service providers against key performance indicators (KPIs)
-
Prepare and share performance reports, providing actionable insights to stakeholders
-
Work closely with logistics partners to ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs)
Claims Management
-
Handles complaints related to claims process, coordinates with Sales, Customer and Logistics Team
-
Prepares claims against service providers on cargo damaged incidents and /or coordinates with the Risk Team for insurance claims
-
Process and manage claims for damages, losses, or discrepancies during transport

Collaborate with carriers, insurance providers, and internal departments for resolution

Ensure to monitor claims receivable and payment settlement coordinates

Handles investigation and closure of complaints related to damaged/discrepancy of goods and raw materials and damage to property

Maintain accurate records and analyze claims data to identify improvement opportunities

Coordinates with the Risk Team for any transactions related to processing of insurance
Process Improvement

Continuously evaluate and refine reverse logistics processes for greater efficiency and cost savings

Support sustainability initiatives by integrating eco-friendly practices into reverse logistics operations

Handles logistics related projects that result in improved quality and customer satisfaction

Drive operational excellence through innovative approaches and best practices
Other Tasks

Maintains files of logistics documents and records in compliance to the quality management standards

Actively participate in all company programs and activities under quality improvement, safety & security, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, risk management etc

Performs other related activities that may be assigned by immediate superior
Food Safety

Complies with quality, Halal, health and food safety policy, standards and regulations of the company

Responsible for reporting problems related to Halal, food safety & quality management system to identified authorities
Qualifications
Education:
-
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience:
-
At least 1 year work experience in logistics / supply chain or equivalent

Proficiency in logistics systems (e.g., SAP, WMS, TMS) and cost analysis tools
