To guarantee successful business / service / solution delivery through effective transition planning, formal transition management, and monitoring transition progress in full collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Transition Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and executing detailed transition plans, outlining tasks, timelines, and resources

  • Coordinating with project teams and departments to ensure alignment with transition objectives

  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress of transitions, addressing issues as they arise

  • Communicating changes to relevant stakeholders and managing resistance effectively

  • Providing training and support to staff during transition periods

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

EFFECTIVELY PLAN FOR SMOOTH AND SUCCESSFUL PROJECT TRANSITION:

  • Work with business representatives to define the business change deliverables required to achieve an appropriate Transition Schedule and Transition Methodology;

  • Actively participate in the bid/disposal process, developing transition proposal material for inclusion in formal proposals;

  • Plan for transition activities in collaboration with Business Development and Operations; and

  • Assist in developing presentations for account management and business development teams to help sell international services to existing and prospective clients

MANAGE FORMAL PROJECT TRANSITION:

  • Proactively liaise with other business/operational stakeholders to ensure that new business / client services and solutions are accommodated in the operational planning cycle, operational deliverables and organisational resource plans;

  • Implement client/business specific operations and training across multiple customer segments and accounts;

  • Manage heavy client interfaces in establishing effective work streams to accomplish implementation deliverables within established timeframes;

  • Transition new business / client service / solutions to operations; and

  • Participate in formal project signoff and closure once deliverables have been met and client requirements satisfied

MONITOR AND REPORT ON TRANSITION PROGRESS AND STATUS:

  • Continuously monitor transition progress;

  • Proactively identify risks, determine and monitor the impact thereof, and develop corrective actions to mitigate risks;

  • Ensure that key internal and external stakeholders are updated on transition progress and status; and

  • Manage business/client queries and escalations

CUSTOMER FOCUSED PEOPLE LEADERSHIP:

  • Ensure that employees have clear and understood work/role descriptions, targets and goals to perform their functions, and that client needs and requirements are integrated into all work related practices;

  • Ensure that employees have the right resources, skills, tools, equipment, and information to successfully execute on their responsibilities;

  • Effectively manage employee performance and create opportunities for them to gain the competence for the work required and to grow.

  • Proactively align future talent needs through effective succession planning and capacity building initiatives (i.e. development programmes, training, mentorship, coaching etc.), and advise employees on career opportunities and the requirements to achieve personal growth; and

  • Align with the company BBBEE strategy and ensure all targets and deliverables are met.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; project management certification is a plus

  • Proven experience in managing organizational transitions or change initiatives

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams

  • Technical qualification preferable and or MDP

  • Project Management qualification an advantage

  • Sales and customer interaction experience

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; project management certification

  • Sound knowledge of IT applications

  • Sound knowledge of PMBOK/Xpert and PRINCE 2 Methodology

  • Contracts and Service Management

  • ITIL and ISO standards

  • Computer literacy: MS Office  - full package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Years of Experience:

  • 5 years operational IT experience

  • 3 - 5 years Contract and Project Transition Management experience, preferably in the delivery of Technology solutions in the IT Industry

Other requirements:

  • Written and Verbal Communication skills

  • Strong people skills
