We are seeking a dynamic leader to head our highly visible and newly established Transformation Office (“TO”). This role sits with Starr’s Consulting & Transformation department which reports to Starr’s CEO’s Chief of Staff. This role is pivotal in driving strategic change and ensuring alignment with Starr's overarching goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to foster collaboration across all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Overall Leadership and Vision

  • Collaborate with executives to define the vision and strategic direction for the TO.
  • Ensure alignment of the TO with Starr’s goals and executive priorities.

2. Program Governance

  • Establish and maintain governance structures for the Transformation Program, including decision-making and reporting protocols.
  • Partner with business leaders to guide and support the execution of transformation projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.

3. Stakeholder and Leadership Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Starr executives, business units, and the TO.
  • Lead efforts to secure executive sponsorship and stakeholder buy-in for transformation initiatives.
  • Assist executives in identifying Business Leaders for transformation projects.

4. Performance and Benefit Tracking

  • Oversee the development and implementation of KPIs and metrics to measure transformation success.
  • Ensure the realization of expected benefits from transformation projects, holding business units accountable for results.

5. Communication and Change Management

  • Champion the transformation agenda across Starr through regular updates, town halls, and internal communications.
  • Address and manage resistance to change through targeted communication strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced degree is strongly preferred, with an outstanding record of academic achievement. Insurance experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in management consulting, large-scale change management, turnaround and restructurings, M&A and integrations.
  • Program management leadership experience on driving large-scale, transformational change programs is preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in establishing governance structures and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and achieve results.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $180,000-$220,000.
