The Role
We are seeking a people-focused leader with a strong background in language services to manage and support a distributed team in delivering high-quality transcreation projects. In this role, you will serve as a mentor and escalation point, ensuring team productivity, maintaining morale, and driving adherence to established workflows. Your leadership will be key to aligning daily operations with client expectations and consistently meeting KPIs. Working closely with cross-functional teams and clients, you’ll monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and support professional development across your team. Your ability to balance team management with operational oversight will be essential in ensuring efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction across all deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted mentor and escalation point for your team and support in the management of workload and resources to ensure productivity levels are maintained and good morale within the team
- Ensure the team are efficiently adhering to established language workflows and processes to make sure all deliverables meet the quality and consistency expectations of the client
- Build and develop strong relationships with clients and act as a Languages and Localisation SME to confidently guide clients through the language workflows and deliver against agreed SLAs and KPIs
- Coordinate regular strategic reviews / presentations / reporting with the client to ensure objectives are being met, issues raised are resolved and that visibility of workload is clear for planning purposes
- Contribute to cost estimate preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting on portfolio of accounts, and proactively seek and identify new revenue opportunities for business growth
- Coach and develop your team to ensure achievement of their Personal Development Plan including supporting with performance management and identifying training needs
- Ensure strong utilisation of team and identify cross-training and cross-utilisation by other teams where possible
- Close collaboration and effective communication with other teams within the Hogarth network including Talent Management, Quality Management, Client Services and Production Teams
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Hogarth business model, services and technologies and proactively identify areas for improvement in the existing workflows and processes to maximise efficiencies and profitability
- Support with recruitment and interviews where required
Reporting lines and key stakeholders
- This role reports to the Director of Language Services.
- You will also collaborate with other Language Services team members based in London on global accounts. Day-to-day contact is primarily with team members in Mexico, Argentina, and Canada.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience and sound working knowledge in language services (Translation, Transcreation, Cultural Insight, Linguistic AI)
- 2+years of experience in team management – both locally and virtually
- Demonstrable financial skills (P & L, estimating, budgeting, forecasting)
- TMS experience and CAT Tools proficiency
- Proven end-to-end Language Project Management skills from Briefing through to Delivery
- Exceptional communication skills with both internal colleagues and external clients
- Strong organisational, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills, and an ability to thrive under pressure
- Strong client management skills and excellent networker
- Ability to both follow established processes but also think outside the box and challenge the status quo Fluent oral and written English plus additional language(s)
