Overview: The Training Coordinator is responsible for the development and improvement of existing training programs at the St. James Plant with the primary focus on front line Operations & Maintenance personnel to include hands on instruction. This role will also be a resource in determining appropriate training criteria/materials that coincide with role competencies with a focus on performance beyond compliance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Enhances Front Line Craft Performance – works with Plant Technical Experts (Technical Advisors, Engineers, Specialist) and Learning/Development designers (3rd party) to improve Operations and Maintenance training programs
- Enhances Front Line Supervision – works with Corporate Human Resources to identify and execute training programs that improve the effectiveness of front-line supervision
- Prioritization of Resources – works with Training Manager/Administrator to perform gate reviews to both ensure training load meets St. James personnel capacity while also scrutinizing/prioritizing training commensurate with job duties/responsibilities
Key Goals:
- Improve Operations Training program
- Leverage Operations Training program to Maintenance Technicians
- Develop Front Line Supervision Training Program
- Streamline training materials while eliminating inefficiencies in utilization of training time
Qualifications:
- AS Degree or 7 years equivalent training/related experience in a chemical/petrochemical plant – vocational technical school may be accepted in lieu of degree
- Excellent computer and verbal/written communication skills
- Experience with Operations and/or Maintenance Crafts preferred
- Understanding of Adult Learning Techniques
- Comfortable working on team or as individual contributor
