What’s the role about?
As part of our Womenswear Production department, you’ll be joining as our Trainee Product Developer who is responsible for supporting the Product Development Team with managing the development process of our womenswear product by working closely with our Womenswear Design Team to develop each category from initial concept through to finished product.
Who you are
- Experience within product development, fabric, buying or merchandising is desirable
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills- both verbal and written
- Organised and able to prioritise workload

What you’ll be doing
- Working closely with our Design and Buying teams to ensure the cost and production is viable for the development of our collection
- Critical Path management, keeping Vision updated for costings and retail selling prices
- Attending weekly progress meetings and assisting the Product Developer in any actions as required
- Supporting Merchandising, Buying and Technical team once product is signed off to ensure all categories are progressed through delivery
- Assisting team in sending out development specs to suppliers and chase samples back for seasonal buy meetings
- Chase back all proto samples from suppliers and update tracker with sample due dates, send priority list to suppliers each week to confirm required dates for samples
- Log in all samples when they arrive and steam in preparation handover to Product Developer and design team
- Working with the Product Developer, cross source key fabrics with factories and develop new fabrics based on key trends
- Assisting in the development of new routes by sending out tech packs/samples/process information to get costings and enable supplier to understand Reiss processes
- Support Product Developer to identify opportunities to improve the product and margin including cross costing as required
