KONE’s Global Compliance Function provides services to KONE on a global basis to help KONE conduct its business to a high standard of ethics and compliance. We aim to prevent, detect and remedy misconduct through the creation and implementation of polices and processes, training and awareness, reporting and investigations. Ethics & Compliance is a key element of Sustainability in KONE’s new strategy. The Compliance team works closely with KONE’s Legal Function throughout the whole of KONE.
We are now looking for an
Trainee, Assistant Legal Counsel
to work together with our Global Compliance team on a broad range of matters typical for the Compliance function of an internationally operating company.
The position is offered on a part-time basis for fixed-term period for one year. On average you will be working two to three days per week. The position would ideally start in May 2025 but latest June 1, 2025.
Main responsibilities
- Fact finding and legal research (e.g. sanctions tracking, legislative developments in sustainability and human rights)
- Drafting contractual clauses and reports on e.g. anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, human rights, export control issues
- Maintaining legal databases
- Liaising with KONE Legal Counsels and other stakeholders on compliance matters
- Assisting in the preparation of training material
- Assisting in the conduct of compliance investigations
- Communicating directly with KONE personnel globally in compliance and other matters
Skills, Education and Experience:
- Law student with optimally half of law studies completed
- Capability of working both independently and as part of a larger team
- Fluency in English and Finnish, with proficiency in other languages being an asset
- International experience (e.g. internship or studies abroad) is appreciated
- Motivated and driven to work and get things done in a fast pace international and multicultural environment
