TiMi Montreal- Technical Architect

Responsbilities / Responsabilités:Award-winning TiMi Studio Group seeks a Technical Architect to develop a AAA, open-world game using Unreal’s latest technology. The project will be released on multiple platforms, with an objective to reach a global audience. As a Technical Architect, you will be a key member of our development team, responsible for contributing to various aspects of game development. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including game designers, programmers, artists, and producers, to design and implement the technology stack. You will be responsible for defining the technical architecture and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our game.

What will you do?

• Help establish the game's technical foundation, including gameplay systems, graphics, engine, networking, and backend services

• Ensure consistency, efficiency, scalability, modularity, and compatibility of the features developed by the team

• Ensure that the game's architecture is scalable to accommodate a growing player base

• Collaborate on the implementation of multiplayer and online features, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable online gaming experience

• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimizing the game for various platforms and hardware configurations

• Provide best estimates of tasks required to deliver the features

• Write technical documentation

• Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality

• Support, challenge and build consensus on design directions/decisions to ensure they are viable 

Requirements / Exigences:

What we are looking for?

• 10+ years of experience in games development

• Shipped at least two AAA games on consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X)

• An excellent understanding of common game technologies, processes and software development

• Excellent in self-managing workloads through Jira or another tracking methodology

• Excellent in identifying issues and proposing solutions

• A BS (Bachelor of Science) degree in computer science or equivalent work experience

• Experience with online services (Steam, PlayFab, GameLift, etc).

• Experience with cloud technology (preferable).

• Experience with Unreal Online 4 or 5 (preferable).

• Able to mentor more junior members of the software team
