As an Thin Film Engineer at MKS Instruments, you will partner with Production Department, Engineering and Support Functions. In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Creating new coating processes or modifying existing coating processes
  • Designing new thin film coatings for production, identifying and driving technology development
  • Solving problems in coating production by working with production team
  • Meeting production schedules by establishing or adjusting work procedures
  • Working with Coating Technicians to ensure proper set-ups and reviews of coating designs
  • Setting, following and enforcing all safety regulations

Skills You Bring:
 

  • Degree in Physics, Optics, Engineering, or related science field.
  • Experience in optical coating/thin-film deposition processes in a manufacturing environment is considered a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of high vacuum systems, Evaporation and Sputtering technology

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiar with data analysis tools
  • Strong understanding of material science
  • Operates in a professional environment
