Location & Flexibility
The Telecom Architect role is an integral part of our team at TELUS Digital. To help retain our deep culture of collaboration, this role will maintain an in-office presence in a hybrid capacity based in St. Louis, MO.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Telecom Architect with extensive expertise in Order Management Systems (OSM), Unified Inventory Management (UIM), and Automated Service Activation (ASAP), along with Java and Microservices. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of telecom billing systems such as CSG and Amdocs and a proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale enterprise applications.
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, configure, and test Order Management Applications with a strong focus on Oracle OSM, UIM, and ASAP.
- Design and implement OSM cartridges using Oracle Design Studio on Eclipse IDE.
- Develop scalable and high-performing Java-based Microservices for telecom applications.
- Build and optimize telecom billing integrations (CSG, Amdocs) within enterprise environments.
- Leverage XML technologies (XQUERY, XPATH, XSLT) for data transformation and service orchestration.
- Implement and maintain Java web services (SOAP, WSDL, RESTful APIs) to ensure seamless system
communication. - Work with Oracle databases (11g/12c, PL/SQL) for backend data management and integration.
- Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) best practices to develop robust and maintainable solutions.
- Utilize DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (ANT, Maven, Jenkins) to streamline deployment and testing.
- Drive technical thought leadership, providing guidance across multiple applications and business units.
- Ensure adherence to software development methodologies and governance standards.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud adoption strategies (Oracle Cloud, AWS).
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in architecting, developing, and testing Order Management Applications.
- Expertise in Oracle OSM, including cartridge design, admin tools, and integration strategies.
- Strong Java and J2EE background, including experience with MDB, Kafka.
- Proficiency in XML technologies (XQUERY, XPATH, XSLT).
- Extensive experience with Oracle databases (PL/SQL, database communication).
- Hands-on experience in telecom billing systems (CSG, Amdocs).
- 8+ years of experience with software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- 4+ years of experience with build automation and testing tools (ANT, Maven, Jenkins, SoapUI, JUnit).
- Experience with Oracle Reference and productized BSS/OSS solutions (RODOD, RSDOD).
- Proven ability to architect large and complex enterprise applications.
- Strong leadership in technical strategy and governance.
Bonus Points
- Experience with cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud, AWS).
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.

Individual base salaries are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons determined during the interview process. Salary bands are periodically reviewed and updated based on market changes, internal needs, and industry trends. To drive ongoing pay equity for team members, TELUS Digital conducts regular compensation audits. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base annual salary only, and do not include bonus.
This position is eligible for an annual performance bonus based on personal, division/business unit, and company performance. To maintain equity across the business, annual performance bonus targets are determined by job level, not individual circumstances.
Annual Base Salary Range
$124,800—$156,000 USD
