Technology - Summer Intern

Program Overview:

Fiserv is currently looking for innovative and motivated Technology Interns to participate in our 2025 Summer Internship Program. Our Summer Intern program offers hardworking college students an opportunity to go beyond the classroom to develop leadership skills and gain relevant hands-on experience working as part of a global support team with professionals across the enterprise. Additionally, interns will participate in scheduled activities throughout the summer, including sessions with Senior Leaders, site tours, volunteer opportunities, and other social events. You must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship. Target start dates are early June/July depending on your availability .

Role Overview

You will work with the EMEA Billing Engineering team to gain hands-on experience in Java-based microservices development and database operations. You will collaborate with senior engineers to validate system outcomes, verify databases, and contribute to process improvements through code review and enhancements. Assignments serve to offer practical experience and broad exposure to the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining Java Spring Boot  microservices.
• Validate expected outcomes of business processes and system operations.
• Query and verify SQL databases to ensure data integrity.
• Review and enhance existing code to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and testing to maintain high-quality standards.
• Document findings, test results, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve issues and optimize system performance.

Required Skills

• Programming: Java, Spring Boot
• Database: MySQL
• Tools: Git, Postman, IntelliJ, VS Code or similar IDA
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Progress towards completion of bachelor's degree by 2026 with demonstrated academic achievement

A wide range of college majors are considered based on specific needs of department such as: Computer Science/Network Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, MIS, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math), but willing to train the right candidate.
