The Technologist will be responsible for the following functions:
• Identify technology trends that CPL should watch. These trends (such as PQC, FHE, distributed identity, confidential computing, AI/ML, GenAI, etc.) could be relevant for the future (mid-term and long-term) growth of the CPL product portfolio.
• Identify market trends, especially in cloud-native technologies, and AI, and thus influence CPL's strategic direction for innovation and product deployment.
• Work hands-on with business development (BD), product line management (PLM), and Strategy teams to discover technical and/or business “problems” that if addressed will bring business value to our customers.
• Design and implement quick proof of concepts (PoC) to help validate technology choices and bridge the gap between innovation and the general availability of corresponding product features.
• As a problem set becomes better understood, work with R&D, and strategic technology partners to design, architect, bootstrap, and mature PoC to its first demonstrator. Subsequently, coordinate project transfer (artifacts, tooling, pipelines, documentation, etc.) to R&D.
• Gather and analyze customer feedback through a common CPL framework involving sales, product, and marketing, and align value proposition with market needs through the development and go-to-market process.
• Help evaluate opportunity size for specific value propositions, from market data, customer feedback, and internal data.
• Identify potential value gaps and opportunities with current CPL strategy.
• Help identify and assess the technical strength of potential acquisition/partnership targets as part of CPL's long-term strategy.
• Articulate technical designs and innovation ideas to customers and work with their senior architects to refine/update these technical designs and create business value.
• Work closely with DIS innovation teams as needed by offering technology/business/strategy perspective to augment or reevaluate a perceived technology match.

What We Do
Welcome into our world, where we believe in making every day beautiful! At Vera Bradley, we believe beauty has a unique power to inspire and improve the quality of women's lives. Too often, beauty gets mistaken for something lofty or perfect. Something that lives in grand gestures or for a special, elite few.
We believe beauty is so much more than what you see on the surface. Beauty belongs everywhere, and is especially moving when it appears in places you wouldn't think to look and in situations you wouldn't expect to find it. And let's face it — we know it can make the difference between an ordinary day and an extraordinary one.
Meaningful beauty has been woven into the fabric of our company since day one. Let's flash back to day one, when the idea for this company was born in one of the most un-beautiful places in the world: the airport. We brought beauty to women travelers with inspired and feminine luggage, and the brand grew rapidly and organically from there — from friends and family as its first brand ambassadors into an American brand that is loved and toted by millions of women today.
At its very core, Vera Bradley is an innovation brand for women. We've always been inspired by the needs of real women, and our proudest moments have been when we can bring communities of women together through their shared love of beauty.
Our vision of hope ... Vera Bradley Co-founders Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and Patricia R. Miller began raising funds for breast cancer research in 1993 after the loss of their dear friend, Mary Sloan. Since then, their genuine commitment to this cause has evolved into the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. Together with our donors, event participants and volunteers, we hope for a future free from breast cancer. $25.7 million in contributions have been raised so far to support critical advancements in breast cancer research.
