Tarkett has a great opportunity for a Technical Specialist reporting from our Middlefield Distribution Center.
Tarkett is seeking a Technical Specialist to join our successful and growing team in Middlefield, Ohio. This will be a remote position, that will require travel.
This position is responsible for installation and maintenance training, complaint evaluations and providing site reports, answering detailed questions related to product installation, product performance, maintenance, and reviewing technical documents to ensure alignment with current recommendations. This position reports to the Technical Services Director.
What this role is responsible for:
- Conduct install certification seminars to test installer's abilities to become Tarkett Certified
- Provide maintenance seminars
- Conduct claim site visits and provide detailed report of findings
- Review Technical Service documents to ensure accuracy including identifying improvement opportunities, based upon data collection, to positively impact customer experience
- Active knowledge of ASTM testing for flooring products
- Answer questions related to product and application as well as standards and maintenance
- Evaluate product characteristics, features and benefits, and make recommendations to Product Management or Manufacturing for product or process improvement
- Assist in the creation of installation and maintenance videos to accompany Tarkett Products
- Attend conferences, seminars, or training opportunities that involve travel and presenting to internal and external customers
- Assist in the training of department team members to contribute to overall skillset of the team
- Provide information to the technical hotline team to ensure accuracy and consistency of recommendations.
- Be independent and have the knowledge to manage a project from data entry to communication of resolution.
- Support and promote team while striving to provide an excellent customer experience.
Education & Experience Desired:
- Experience: Preferred 10 years’ experience within the flooring industry as well as 10 years of related experience in construction project management.
- Education: Minimum of High School with a preferred degree from a Technical College in a related field
- Working knowledge of industry standard Installation and Maintenance procedures
- Computer savvy, must be Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent flooring installer hand skills
- Ability to make basic determinations through evaluation of products
- Being able to proficiently speak Spanish or French is a plus
- SAP experience is a plus
