Technical Writer

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Technical Writer in the IT department at MKS, you will partner with both Information Technology groups and technical staff from the business (ex. Engineering, Internal Teams, Sales, Customers, etc.) to support the creation and maintenance of our documentation. In this role, you will report to the IT Global Service Desk Manager.
 

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Research, outline, write, maintain and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand requirements
• Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, diagrams,  technical specifications, and process documentation
• Quality Assurance and Governance: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the documentation through testing and validation procedures
• Manage, organize, design, develop, govern and maintain knowledge documents
• Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation
• Innovate and develop improvements to continually enhance the organization’s documentation and processes
   

Skills You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in journalism, communications, or relevant technical field
• Two or more years of experience as an effective technical writer
• Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences
• Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter
   

Preferred Skills: (Optional)

• ServiceNow experience including the ServiceNow Knowledge Base
