Simple Technology Solutions is looking for a Technical Writer to add to our team.

Quick Position Overview:

  • US Citizenship is required
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field and 10+ years of experience

The Role:

The Technical Writer will be responsible for all aspects of communicating/writing to the needs of the project in a format that is consistent, easily digestible to the non-technical audience, and organized.

The Technical Writer at STS will:

  • Manage communications team projects and tasks
  • Develop documentation to include processes, workflows, user guides, and style guides 
  • Create content for newsletters, reports, and presentations
  • Coordinate graphic design needs
  • Organize and prepare presentations for outreach efforts 
  • Edit presentation slides for plain language, grammar, and spelling
  • Collect and finalize content for weekly reports
  • Develop social media posts
  • Collect and finalize content for newsletters and publish
  • Collect and finalize content for annual report and publish
  • Coordinate executive speaking engagements
  • Moderate agency-wide webinars

Education and Experience:

Required


  • US Citizenship is required
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field and 10+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior communications role within a federal program
  • Ability to manage projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience developing documentation such as style guides, user guides, and workflow documentation
  • Ability to work with technical teams to generate original content
  • Ability to communicate technical information to business-oriented audiences, and vice versa
  • Experience, including formalized training, in the use of InDesign and Adobe Pro to create graphics
  • Basic administration experience with SharePoint
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and the Jira tool
  • Expertise in plain language best practices
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
