Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation to support the Information Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Team.The candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality clear and concise documentation that meets the needs of our users, including policies, standards, procedural guides, manuals, and online help. You will work closely with subject matter experts such as engineers, developers, and product managers to gather information and translate it into clear and concise content that is easily digestible by users at the target audience whether technical or non-technical level.
Responsibilities

  • Documentation creation. Develop and maintain technical documents, including policies, standards, procedural guides, manuals, and online help, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and user-friendly.
  • Collaboration. Reviews security controls, frameworks, and regulations; assesses implementation requirements; and integrates input from key stakeholders and subject matter experts. Work closely with other organizations, such as legal compliance, information security, internal audit, engineers, and developers, to gather and interpret complex technical information.
  • Content structuring. Organize and present information in a logical and coherent manner, making it understandable to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Editing and proofreading. Review and adjust content to ensure clear, concise and accurate, adhering to company style guides and standards.
  • Brainstorms methods to communicate a range of content (e.g., training resources, policy changes) to a diverse audience of technical and non-technical users. Ensures materials meet regulatory, legal, and other compliance requirements thru collaboration with legal and compliance groups.
  • Tool proficiency. Ability to use a variety of documentation tools and platforms to create, manage, and publish content.
  • Track and ensures annual review of company Policies, Standards, and Controls whole maintaining versioning control.
  • Cybersecurity Intranet Site - Awareness Content Maintenance and policy posts.
  • Manages multiple projects while meeting stated deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned to support Security Program


Qualifications

  • Experience in technical writing or a related field. 3+ years preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Technical Communication, English, Information Systems or Cyber Security related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to explain them in simple terms.
  • Excellent writing, as well as editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of cross-functional teams, including engineers and developers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 documentation tools
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems.
  • Experience developing documents that conform to accepted standards in the field.
  • Experience with Information Security and Governance, Risk, and Compliance concepts a plus
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $64,260.00 - $105,570.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
