Job Description Summary:

The Developer Experiences team is part of the Merchant team within the Core Product & Engineering organization. The Developer Experiences team is committed to delivering the best experience for our global developers. Our team designs end- to-end developer experiences, testing and tooling capabilities critical for our customers (developers) to build and go-live with PayPal’s payment integrations.
We are seeking a Content Manager to collaborate with us in transforming the Dev Docs experience at Braintree and HyperWallet for PayPal Inc. In this role, you will lead a team of technical writers and will collaborate with stakeholders like Product Managers, Engineers, UXD, Marketing, Payment subject matter experts to deliver world class document experiences that will be consumed by millions of global developers who will use our documents and artifacts to efficiently integrate their merchant apps and websites with Braintree and HyperWallet products, APIs and SDKs.

The developer ecosystem team at Braintree and HyperWallet for PayPal is committed to delivering the best experience for our global developers. The team is part of the Merchant Product & Engineering organization. Our team is responsible for Braintree and HyperWallet’s end-to-end developer experiences for medium and large enterprise customers. Our team designs experiences, testing and tooling capabilities critical for our developers to build and go live with Braintree and HyperWallet payment integrations across all segments. Your way to impact

In this role, you will create documents that millions of global developers use to successfully onboard merchants who use PayPal.

Your day to day

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Product Engineers, User Designers, and Integration Engineers to produce technical content that supports external developers in integrating and using Braintree and HyperWallet products through APIs, SDKs, and other integration systems.
  • Work with our SMEs to comprehend complex technical products quickly. 
  • Complete all phases of the DDLC, including topic research, writing, editing, and pushing to production through a CMS and a git-based authoring environment.
  • Monitor doc quality and performance through doc KPIs, metrics, and analytics. 
  • Review and audit content - meticulously proofread and refine technical documents before publication, ensuring accuracy and quality. 
  • Collaborate on editorial reviews - present your work to stakeholders for their insights and approval, ensuring content meets developer needs, technical accuracy, and editorial standards. 

What do you need to bring

  • 12+ years’ of proven experience in the technical writing space preferably in Fintech, Enterprise or SMB Software, Cloud/SaaS Technologies, Retail/Supply Chain industries. You bring the best of industry innovation, best practices, processes and tools to the Developer Experiences team
  • 3+ years of proven experience in managing technical writer teams ( > 3 technical writers)
  • Strong preference to someone with experience with the developer persona
  • Be able to show a portfolio of technical content created in previous jobs.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to deliver accurate and engaging content.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, web-app concepts, APIs and SDKs.
  • Excellence in Stakeholder Management – Very Strong cross-functional skills with ability to set, manage and respond to diverse and multiple customer/stakeholder expectations. Build strong relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders to make a large cross-company impact
  • Strategic Thinking – Ability to think deeply about document experiences for developer and balance with available resources and risks to synthesize a strong but workable vison for document-as-a-product.
  • Ability for strong execution – Experience and skill in operationalizing strategies and requirements. Make and execute pragmatic plans/roadmaps to collaboratively deliver high quality and timely developer document experiences
  • Analytical Depth – Taken a Data and Analytics driven approach to creating Documents-as-Products. Ability to dive deep into customer pain points and feedback.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience (15+ years) as a Technical Writer with a focus on creating technical content for a developer persona. 
  • Experience in managing a team of 3+ Technical Writers
  • Ability to show a portfolio of technical content created in previous jobs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to deliver accurate and engaging content.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, web-app concepts, APIs and SDKs.
