THE ROLE & THE TEAM
As a Technical System Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying, integrating, and managing both third-party and internally developed enterprise solutions. Your role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining solutions connected to ServiceNow, optimizing workflows, improving service delivery, and driving innovation within our Digital Workplace (Facility Management, Organization Services, and Workplace Innovation). As our team and projects evolve, you will also contribute to our productivity applications team, focusing on enhancing our digital workplace experience (e.g., Google Workspace), automating processes to further streamline and innovate our workplace solutions and employee self-service offerings.
WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

Technical Ownership: Manage and maintain our current third-party solutions with a future involvement in productivity applications.

Requirement Analysis and Consultation: Analyze business requirements, consult with internal and external partners regarding technical feasibility and solution design, and act as the technical lead for identifying and implementing third-party software solutions.

System Operations and Support: Ensure smooth system operations with a user-oriented mindset in a cross-functional product team. Handle 2nd and 3rd level support requests, following defined incident management processes.

System Integration: Integrate new systems into the corporate applications landscape, ensuring proper data provisioning in accordance with Zalando Tech best practices and standards.

Documentation and Operational Excellence: Create technical documentation and drive operational excellence within the team.

Customization and Troubleshooting: Design and customize applications, modules, workflows, forms, and UI using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other relevant technologies. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Facility Management and Organization Services tools and ServiceNow platform, including system performance, data integrity, and user experience.

Code Review and Improvement: Perform code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.

Productivity Applications: Focus on our digital workplace solutions and experience (e.g. Google Workspace), and automation processes, enhancing our productivity applications and driving innovation in these areas.

ServiceNow Platform Development: Participate in the end-to-end development lifecycle of the ServiceNow platform, including requirement gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

You have at least 4 years of experience as a System Engineer within application management/integration, with responsibility for enterprise solutions.

Excellent communication and project management capabilities, with the ability to lead discussions with business users and external partners.

Strong expertise in at least one or more of the following scripting languages and technologies: Python, Kubernetes, SQL, Node.js, PowerShell, JavaScript, TypeScript, AWS, or other web technologies.

You have experience in developing and maintaining integrations with third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs, SCIM and other relevant protocols.

You are proficient in debugging and troubleshooting complex issues on SaaS solutions.

Strong knowledge of cloud-based productivity suites administration, particularly Google Workspace, with experience in scripting for task automation and other repetitive processes.

Solid understanding of ServiceNow best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.

Fluency in English; German is a plus.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS
ServiceNow certifications, such as ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and at least one Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) are highly desirable.
