Job Description:

As part of our dynamic support organization, you’ll deliver high-level technical expertise and guidance to our growing customer base throughout the Pre- and Post-Sales phases. This role involves solving complex customer issues, replicating scenarios, collaborating with Engineering on code fixes, and ensuring prompt resolutions by releasing patches as needed. Responsibilities and Daily Duties:

  • Administer and manage Hadoop environments, including data processing, ingestion, and analytics with tools like MR, YARN, Hive, and HBase.
  • Demonstrate strong SQL skills, including query optimization and tuning.
  • Advise customers on data ingestion technology selection, assisting with ETL processes, Metastore configuration, and access settings.
  • Serve as a technical support engineer, managing priority issues with HPE Data Fabric filesystem, security, NoSQL databases, and streaming.
  • Install and configure the HPE Data Fabric filesystem for customers, handling node sizing and volume setup, and configuring NFS access and data ingestion.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve HPE Data Fabric filesystem issues, implementing preventive measures for future stability.
  • Use scripting and pattern-matching tools to debug and identify root causes.
  • Manage and troubleshoot table structures, partitions, and no SQL databases, examining data types and running sample queries to identify customer-reported issues.
  • Interact with customer teams to understand use cases, system configurations, and monitoring tools used for cluster management.
  • Evaluate third-party applications used by customers and their integration with EDF software.
  • Leverage strong analytical skills for in-depth problem resolution, categorizing issues effectively as bugs, configuration errors, or hardware issues.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on product defects, testing, and patching processes, ensuring seamless delivery to customers.
  • Maintain case ownership and communication with customers, collaborating with sales engineers for escalations and consulting backline support as needed.
  • Capture best practices and develop knowledge articles for self-service resources.

Kubernetes Knowledge (Required):

  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals, deployment, and container orchestration.
  • Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters, managing workloads, and integrating Kubernetes with HPE Data Fabric and Hadoop ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes network policies, storage management, and security best practices.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in relevant technologies and customer environments.
  • Relevant industry qualifications where applicable.

Skills/Tools/Technologies Required:

  • Programming Languages: Java, sparkSQL, Scala
  • Technologies: Hadoop, Sqoop, Flume, Hive, HBase, HiveServer 2, HDFS, MySQL, spark, SQL tez, and Oozie
  • Operating System: Proficient in Linux administration and troubleshooting
  • Tools: tcpdump, netstat, SAR, free, htop, IOStat, meminfo, jstack, gdb, vmstat
  • Kubernetes experience (required), Python/Java/C++ development experience (a plus)

USD Annual Salary: $78,700.00 - $181,200.00
