Technical Solution Architect

Job Overview: 
We are seeking a skilled Senior Level Technical Solution Architect based in Newport News, VA. The Senior Technical Solutions Architect serves as a key leader responsible for defining, establishing, and evolving the Army Training Information System (ATIS) technical and datacentric architecture. This role requires advanced expertise in designing scalable, cloud-based solutions, aligning technology strategies with business objectives, and ensuring compliance with Army policies and standards. As a senior leader, the Technical Solutions Architect will collaborate with stakeholders, guide cross functional teams, and provide innovative solutions to complex enterprise technology challenges.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
 
Typical Duties: 

• Strategic Architecture Design and Oversight:
  
  • Define and evolve the technical and datacentric architecture for ATIS, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and cArmy policies.
  • Collaborate with data architects to design and map future state architectures, enabling scalable and sustainable solutions.
  • Lead the decomposition of largescale projects into manageable, actionable technical components to support successful implementations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
  
  •  Engage with stakeholders, senior Army officers, and civilian personnel to present and rationalize technical plans, aligning them with organizational roadmaps.
  • Facilitate discussions to address complex technical challenges and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Translate technical architecture into actionable insights for technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Technical Solutions and Innovation:
  
  •  Research, evaluate, and document the benefits of various technical approaches, recommending innovative solutions that align with modern Army enterprise systems.
  • Leverage expertise in AWS and Azure cloud services to design and implement cloud-based solutions, ensuring integration with existing Army systems.
  •  Provide interface and integration strategies while ensuring compliance with external and organizational requirements.
• Program and Project Enablement:
  
  •  Align technology strategies to support broader business initiatives and goals, enabling smooth transitions into operational programs.
  •  Lead the implementation of enterprise data management solutions, including master data management (MDM), ETL processes, and data lakes.
  •  Collaborate with cross functional teams spanning multiple Army programs to ensure cohesive and interoperable solutions.
• Compliance and Governance:
  
  • Ensure solutions adhere to cArmy policies and procedures and comply with DoD and federal government regulations.
  • Guide teams in implementing best practices for data governance, data quality management, and metadata management.

Required Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of cArmy policies and procedures.
• Proven ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Experience leading technical solution implementations with multiple stakeholders and providing strategic briefings to senior Army leadership.
• Hands on experience with AWS and Azure cloud services.

• Travel up to 20%

Qualifications: 

• Secret clearance level
• U.S. Citizenship
• Master’s degree in an Information Technology discipline or a related field.
• SAFe Solutions Architect and SAFe DevOps or Security+ (or higher).

Desired Qualifications:

• AWS Solutions Architect Associate and/or Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Experience with enterprise data management solutions such as data quality management, metadata management, ETL, data warehousing, and data lakes.
• Experience in cross functional collaboration across multiple Army programs.
