Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Software Release Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and preparing software releases, including the merging of final release candidates. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the end-to-end release process for software products, ensuring timely and high-quality releases.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to plan, schedule, and execute software releases.
  • Oversee the merging of final release candidates, ensuring all code changes are properly integrated and tested.
  • Develop and maintain release schedules, tracking progress and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Ensure that all release-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date
  • Conduct release readiness reviews, ensuring all necessary criteria are met before deployment.
  • Monitor and report on release metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
  • Manage release-related risks and issues, working proactively to mitigate potential problems.
  • Communicate release status and updates to stakeholders, providing clear and concise information.
  • Work specifically with Java systems, ensuring compatibility and smooth integration of Java-based applications
  • Provides comprehensive application software development services and/or technical support on moderately complex projects and initiatives
  • Analyzes, modifies and may develop program logic for existing applications, programs and enhancements
  • Competent to work at the highest technical level of some phases of applications programming activities
  • Performs specialized assignments; solves complex problems and develops non-traditional solutions through sophisticated analytical thinking
  • Interprets internal/external business environment
  • Recommends best practices to improve processes or services
  • Impacts achievements of customer, operational, project or service objectives
  • Communicates difficult concepts to team to generate clarity and alignment on projects, initiatives, and various work products
  • May lead functional projects with moderate risks and resource requirements
  • Individual contributor working independently; may require guidance in highly complex situations
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Experience

  • Typically requires 5+ years of related work experience
  • Strong technical background, with experience in software development and version control systems.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools and practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience with Java systems and applications
