About the role:
The SEO Department at TMB is seeking a Technical SEO Manager to spearhead technical SEO initiatives and drive organic traffic growth across our diverse portfolio of websites. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing technical SEO performance across all properties while working closely with cross-functional teams to implement SEO best practices. Reporting to the VP of SEO & Digital Performance, this role collaborates with Product, Editorial, and Development teams to ensure technical SEO strategies align with overall business and traffic objectives.
About you:
You are a strategic problem-solver with a passion for using data to improve website performance through technical SEO. Skilled at diagnosing and troubleshooting SEO issues, you develop innovative solutions to enhance organic search visibility. Driven to investigate root causes, you work through complex challenges until resolved and know how to identify the most important issues and make a business case for other teams to prioritize the work that is needed. You thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy working across teams, and are motivated by the complexity of high-traffic sites and intricate structures
Your day-day: (aka Responsibilities)
- Conduct Technical SEO Audits & Monitor Site Health: Perform regular audits to improve website health, Core Web Vitals, and page performance, while proactively monitoring metrics to identify and resolve SEO issues impacting organic search
- Optimize Technical Elements: Provide technical recommendations to improve site architecture, rendering techniques, structured data integration, and resolve crawl and indexing issues
- Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the technical SEO liaison, coordinating with the Product, Development, and Content teams to implement SEO-driven changes
- Develop Internal Linking and Crawl Budget Strategies: Craft and implement scalable strategies for internal linking and effectively allocate crawl budget to enhance search engine visibility
- Manage Redirects and Migrations: Oversee URL redirects, page migrations, and other critical changes, ensuring SEO best practices are maintained throughout
- Analyze Data and Report Insights: Use tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and custom APIs to produce regular SEO reports and communicate tech SEO findings to the team and leadership
You have: (aka Qualifications)
- 5+ years of experience in technical SEO, with a focus on large, complex websites
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and strong understanding of how these languages impact SEO
- Demonstrated experience with SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMRush, Ahrefs, and log file analyzers like Botify)
- Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, or similar data manipulation software; experience with data visualization tools like Looker, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus
- Experience working with Core Web Vitals, page speed optimization, structured data, and crawl efficiency
- Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence
