We are seeking a Scrum Lead for Wealth Management platform, who is enthusiastic about Agile as they are about serving our clients. Wealth Management clients touch multiple lines of business and serviced by our Self-Directed, Advised, and Institutional platforms. This resource would be part of a team supporting the ‘Advice & Wealth Management Technology’ division of Vanguard. You will use Agile methodologies to identify & track Risks, dependencies, and Process improvements for cross functional teams. As part of this role, you will be supporting 2-3 teams and be running product level operating ceremonies. As part of this role, you will be coaching and educating larger organization for continuous improvements and using metrics to improve predictability.
This Hybrid position is based in Dallas,TX.
Core Responsibilities
- Leads, builds, and coaches high performing teams in the delivery of technology-related products or projects, ensuring team actions are aligned with project and business goals. May instruct or coach other professionals.
- Leads planning, team learning, and adaptation of processes to ensure the quality of team solutions.
- Enables a continuous learning environment, identifying ways to strengthen the team's understanding of Agile/Scrum concepts and principles as they relate to technical capabilities.
- Builds and applies methodology that supports the integration of changing customer inputs and business conditions into technology-related product development.
- Recommends to the product owner and management in the definition and prioritization of technology-related outcomes. Identifies trade-offs between short and long term benefits to drive shared vision between the team and product owner.
- Ensures the application of agile frameworks to the development process to increase effectiveness of technology-related product development or architecture.
- Leads daily scrum meetings, iteration reviews, and maintains backlogs.
- Removes roadblocks to technology-related product development or architecture. Applies learnings to other development projects.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Computer Science or Engineering experience preferred. Graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years related work experience. Two years of leading large cross-functional teams on major organizational technology projects preferred. Financial Services and technical experience preferred.
- Scrum/Agile Certification strongly preferred.
- Adept at coaching the Development Team, Product Owner, and the organization. This involves active listening, empathy, and the ability to ask powerful questions that encourage self-discovery

Excellent communication is fundamental. This includes articulating ideas clearly, listening actively, and ensuring shared understanding among team members and stakeholders

Effective Scrum Leads lead by example and by service, promoting self-management within the team. They empower the team to take ownership of their processes and decisions

A focus on continuous improvement for both the team and personal development is crucial. Scrum Leads should encourage regular reflection on work practices and career growth

A deep understanding of agile methodologies and the Scrum framework is fundamental. This includes principles and values of Agile, mechanics of the Scrum process, and the ability to apply various agile practices effectively.

Exceptional facilitation skills are necessary to guide teams through Scrum events and decision-making processes. This involves fostering an environment where team members can collaborate openly and productively
