As a Technical Project Manager within Thales, you will be responsible for a Software Work Package.
Life as a Thales Technical Project Manager:
- Work Package Organisation and Planning:
- Author the Work Package Description with the WP team based on the project structure regarding the entity/Customer requirements
- Identify deliverables, milestones and interdependencies with other WP’s
- Establish the schedule and the estimates based on a viable solution, and identify the necessary resources and their availability
- Initialise the risk and opportunity register and the work package baseline using the relevant key project tools
- Where applicable obtain commitments from suppliers
- Work Package Launch:
- Establish a network diagram and a detailed schedule which is aligned with the project master schedule
- Define the cost structure, resource profiles, supplier selection and the relevant metrics to monitor the WP
- Write relevant plans within the WP scope
- Work Package Execution:
- Achieve the objectives of the Work Package and take the necessary management actions to correct any deviation from the baseline or objectives
- Identifying and solving issues, managing the risks and opportunities and performing mitigation activities
- Work Package Monitoring and Control:
- Review document, specifications, schedule and estimate files using peers where necessary
- Monitor & consolidate all deliverables
- Update the schedule, risk & opportunities register, the ETC & EAC
- Consolidate the work package dashboard and lead progress meetings
- Report as per the PMP and escalate to the PM any variances or key issues
- Quality of Deliverables: o The WPM is responsible for the quality of the delivered products, services and documentation within the project committed time and budget and in the scope of the work package
- The WPM ensures that all configuration items within the WP scope are managed (could be done by a configuration manager)
- Key Stakeholder Relations:
- Lead the team and/or suppliers involved to perform the work package and ensures the respect of all commitments
- Participate and input to all relevant project reviews as specified in the PMP
- Act, where required, as PM delegate to the Client
- Act, where required, as the Thales representative for sub-contracted work
- Capture of Lessons Learned:
- The WPM must collect, analyse and synthesise the strengths and weaknesses during the performance of the work package, propose recommendations for improvement and record these as prescribed in the PMP
- Work Package Closure:
- The WPM must ensure that all the commitments taken in his work package description sheet have been honored by collating all WP data, costs and estimates, recording them and then organise a closure review
To succeed at this job, you must have:
- Education:
- Master of Engineering, Computer Science or any relevant field in university, and you have significant experience in Project Management in complex Software solutions
- Experience level:
- > 6 years of experience in Project Management in complex Software solutions
- Background in Software Development
- You must have fluent Spanish and English level (B2+)
- Competences:
