The Role

We are looking for a skilled and driven Technical Program Manager to join our dynamic Managed Security Service Provider team. As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead the execution of complex security programs, bridging the gap between business objectives, engineering teams, and service delivery operations. This role demands a unique combination of technical acumen, program management expertise, and strategic leadership to deliver impactful cybersecurity solutions in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Responsibilities:

• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of technical and operational programs, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes.

• Define program scope, objectives, milestones, and success criteria in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Drive business and engineering teams to commit to achievable goals, deliverables, and timelines.

• Facilitate communication and alignment between engineering, product, and operations teams.

• Develop, maintain, and track detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation.

• Create and manage risk registers to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks to program success.

• Ensure clear documentation of requirements, decisions, and action items.

• Act as the primary point of contact for program status, updates, and issue resolution.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering leads, business executives, and customers.

• Provide regular reporting on program progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.

• Establish and enforce program governance structures to ensure accountability and transparency.

• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, security frameworks, and internal policies.

• Identify and implement best practices for program and project management within the organization.

• Continuously refine processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.

• Collaborate with security operations, product management, and engineering teams to align program deliverables with business objectives.

• Facilitate technical discussions and ensure clarity around complex cybersecurity solutions and architectures.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience managing large-scale, complex programs in technology, cybersecurity, or MSSP environments.

• Proficiency in building and maintaining project plans, schedules, and risk management tools.

• Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, tools, and technologies, including SIEM, threat intelligence, SOC operations, and incident response.

• Ability to bridge technical concepts with business requirements.

• Expertise in creating and maintaining risk registers, identifying potential risks early, and implementing mitigation strategies.

• Ability to manage issues effectively and ensure timely resolution.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for managing diverse stakeholders, from engineers to C-suite executives.

• Proven ability to drive alignment across business and technical teams.

• Familiarity with governance frameworks and regulatory requirements in the cybersecurity space (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and decision-making.

• High degree of adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency with program management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project, Confluence).

• Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or ITIL.

• Familiarity with cloud security platforms, APIs, and integration workflows.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

Salary range: $120,000 - $190,000 with an up to 10% annual bonus.

As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, DirectDefense provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $120,000 - $155,000 per year with a bonus package.
