About Midnight:

IOG's Midnight Tribe is a business technology provider and core contributor to the Midnight Network, a blockchain platform for developing decentralized applications that safeguard personal and commercial data. The Midnight Network is the first blockchain to offer programmable data isolation by leveraging zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs to enable selective disclosure of what information is visible on-chain and is designed to help developers implement necessary business policies, such as meeting regulatory requirements.

What the role involves:

We are looking for a talented Technical Program Manager Lead to join our team and help shape the future of Midnight’s products and technology. As a Technical Program Manager Lead, you will play a dual role as both a manager of other Technical Program Managers (TPMs) and a hands-on contributor. You will oversee complex, high-impact technical programs while mentoring and guiding TPMs to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be a key leader in driving delivery excellence and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation across the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage, mentor, and guide a team of Technical Program Managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Lead your own portfolio of high-priority technical programs, including planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Act as a bridge between TPMs, cross-functional stakeholders, and leadership to ensure alignment across teams.
  • Define and refine program management processes, tools, and best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness across the TPM team and the organization.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, architects, senior engineering leads, and other teams to ensure program objectives align with business goals.
  • Work with the Director of Operations and other leaders to allocate resources effectively and optimize delivery across programs.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks at both the program and portfolio levels, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for program success, regularly reporting on progress to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in the management of individual programs, demonstrating best practices in execution and problem-solving.
  • Work with key departments, including Marketing, Legal, and Compliance, to ensure their needs are considered in program planning and execution.
Requirements

Who you are:

  • Demonstrated success managing and mentoring teams of Technical Program Managers or similar roles.
  • Extensive experience leading technical programs directly, with the ability to manage a portfolio of high-impact projects.
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies, principles, and practices, as well as familiarity with waterfall methodologies, with a proven ability to lead in both agile and hybrid project management environments.
  • Skilled in using advanced tools like Jira, Linear, or equivalent to manage programs and report on progress.
  • Exceptional ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including leadership, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to resolve conflicts, identify root causes of issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Capable of balancing strategic oversight with tactical execution, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Proactive in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks at both program and organizational levels.
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to maintaining comprehensive and effective program documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in blockchain or decentralized systems is highly desirable but not required.
  • Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and excels at managing shifting priorities.
