In this role, you will serve as a central point of contact for new product developments, encompassing mechanical, electrical, firmware and software aspects. You act as the key liaison between the Product Managers, R&D and Operations teams, spearheading product deliveries from the stage of idea conception, to design, testing, productions ramp up all the way through successful market launch.

 

Furthermore you're expected to act as a mentor to other project/program managers on the team and take ownership for developing Wingtra's PMO further.

Responsibilities

  • Lead interdisciplinary projects, with responsibility in all project phases, including but not limited to feasibility studies, resource and budget forecasting, quality control planning, design transfer and initial production ramp-up with the Industrialization team.
  • Work closely with a dedicated Product Manager, serving as the central link between the R&D and Operations teams, including their sub-teams. Your responsibilities include breaking down high-level requirements into detailed tasks, leading gate review meetings, ensuring supply and production readiness, and supporting market launch activities-
  • Ensure clear accountability, effective resource allocation, and adherence to agreed timelines.
  • Continuously evaluate, enhance and evangelize for inter-team processes and best practices for effective collaboration.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to this role to engage effectively with very diverse stakeholders.
  • 5+ years of experience managing industrial hardware engineering projects from initial concept to full scale production rollouts, ideally within the UAV, automotive, or aerospace industries.
  • Proven technical project leadership in cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, firmware) of at least 10 engineers, with direct collaboration and interaction with technical experts.
  • A strong track record of successfully completing projects in partnership with external suppliers, such as those specializing in injection molding, composite materials, and electronic manufacturing services.
  • Ability to effectively balance resource and budget forecasting with the flexibility to operate in an agile development environment.
