WHO WE NEED:
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Technical Product Manager to lead and scale HCSS Insights, our Power BI-based reporting solution for the heavy civil construction industry. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Power BI or reporting tool, a deep expertise in gathering and analyzing requirements, and a talent for building customer relationships to drive product adoption and growth. This role will be pivotal in enhancing Insights' offerings, improving data credibility, and meeting high demand for custom reports across diverse verticals.
To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop a long-term strategy for embedding reporting features across HCSS products.
  • Engage directly with customers, from large enterprise users to small businesses, to gather and refine detailed reporting requirements. Translate these requirements into product features that solve real-world business challenges.
  • Work closely with data engineering to enhance data reliability and refresh rates, addressing technical debt to improve customer satisfaction with data quality and accuracy.
  • Define and measure product growth KPIs, including user engagement, reporting activity, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Coordinate with other product teams, engineering, sales, and support teams to deliver new features and maintain a high standard of service for customers.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality internal documentation, PRDs, FAQs, and training materials to support customer success and onboarding for HCSS Insights.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5+ years as a Technical Product Manager or a customer-facing technical support role, with a strong emphasis on data products, reporting, and analytics. Proven experience with Power BI, especially in designing and deploying reports and dashboards.
  • Construction or Heavy Civil Engineering Experience: Familiarity with the industry is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Power BI Certification and strong experience with other BI tools or embedded reporting solutions.
  • Agile Product Development: Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience in iterative product development.
  • In-depth knowledge of Power BI, SQL, and data modeling. Experience working within data-centric environments and familiarity with APIs is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering customer requirements, managing expectations, and translating business needs into product requirements. Skilled in presenting product value to diverse audiences.
  • Track record of using data and metrics to make informed product decisions. Familiarity with measuring customer satisfaction and product adoption.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; able to work collaboratively and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
