This role combines technical expertise with strategic product management to lead initiatives from concept to launch.
What You’ll Do:
- Take the lead in collaborating with design and engineering teams to champion the customer's perspective, foster constructive design discussions, make well-informed product decisions, and actively encourage feedback during both product planning and execution phases.
- Forge a strong collaboration with product, design, and engineering leadership to shape product experiences and play an integral role in determining the overall direction of your product vision.
- Seek feedback from various stakeholders, including users, product managers, subject matter experts, designers, engineers, sales, support, and marketing, to ensure a seamless product experience. Collaborate closely with engineering to guarantee the highest quality implementation.
- Continuously conduct market and competitive analyses to unearth fresh opportunities, while also becoming a seasoned authority in the accounting industry.
- Conduct unbiased research with our users daily (we have very involved customers and we wouldn’t have it any other way).
- Obsess every piece of information gathered and thoroughly analyze everything to ensure highly data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex system performance, scalability, and integration issues.
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical specifications and ensuring alignment.

What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years in product management, with a focus on technical product management in SaaS (preferably B2B).
- Strong understanding of SaaS product development, with experience in data science and AI/ML as a plus.
- Hands-on experience with APIs, system architecture, and third-party integrations (AWS knowledge is a plus).
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript (React), or Kotlin (preferred).
- Knowledge of database systems (PostgreSQL), CI/CD pipelines, version control tools (e.g., GitHub), and monitoring tools (e.g., DataDog).
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of collaborating effectively with engineering teams to deliver high-quality products.
- Experience developing a product strategy and vision aligned with cross-functional teams, including engineering and GTM
- Demonstrated ability to lead through clear communication and influence.
- A passion for analyzing product usage data to drive decision-making.
- Experience with design-focused product development and agile methodologies.
- Empathy, confidence, humility, and a sense of humor.

- Experience in the B2B fintech space or Accounting degree, tax or firm experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Expertise in API strategy, integrations, microservice architecture, and system design, with strong skills in scalability, SSO, authorization, data modeling, and SQL.

Interviewing @ Canopy:
Application processes can be a little stressful. Here are the stages of a typical interview process at Canopy:
- Once your application is received, we will review it and get back to you if we feel like it’s a mutual fit!
- 20-minute phone call with the People Team
- 45-60-minute video or in-person interview with the Hiring Manager
- 1-3 rounds of interviews, depending on the role
- Final Interview
Interview processes can vary depending on the role. The People Team will give you a role-specific overview of the process during your first phone call.
