Job Description

You’ll join Xplor Personal Services and our Global Technology team — the team that provides the support and expertise to specialty care businesses like dry-cleaners and laundry services. We build the platforms they need to support their customers and keep life moving.

You’ll help us enhance our industry-leading platform used by our customer base to run their businesses. Some of the other responsibilities you’ll have:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of a technology roadmap to support our departmental strategy and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership in defining technical strategy and in designing solutions to address current and future business requirements and infrastructure needs.
  • Consult with development and project teams to provide technical solutions for complex issues.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior engineers on the team.
  •  Ensure technical design aligns with the vision and future state of existing systems. 
  • Contribute to the vision and direction for the future of our products and services.
  • Review existing architectural roadmaps and propose solutions for existing technical debt and development bottlenecks.
  • Take a proactive approach to drive innovation and creative solutions through cutting-edge technologies and implementation of best practice tools, processes and initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 9+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on mobile applications.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with React Native for mobile app development.
  • Proven track record of leading development teams and managing projects from conception to deployment.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and modern frameworks, especially React Native.
  • Deep understanding of mobile app architecture and design patterns.
  • Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX).
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating with backend services.
  • Knowledge of native mobile development (iOS/Android) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle, Android Studio, and IntelliJ.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Experience with React Native CLI for effective project management.

Leadership and Management

  • Experience in mentoring and guiding junior developers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Communication Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and QA.
  • Experience in conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback.

Additional Skills

  • Familiarity with mobile app testing frameworks and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for mobile applications.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.

  • Strong passion for technology and continuous learning.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

    Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

    • Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Firebase).
    • Contribution to open-source projects or community involvement in React Native.
