Technical Assistant, Entry

As the Technical Assistant, you will provide analytical support as related to Pretreatment & Electrocoat products, performing analytical testing on a wide range of products, customer baths, and raw materials as well as any new or peripheral products as necessary to support the business. You will receive training and be expected to provide guidance and training to less experienced Chemists. You will be expected to have some knowledge in the care and maintenance of analytical instruments, calibration, setup, and cleanup.

You will report to the S&T Product Development Associate Manager. This in an onsite position at our Cleveland, OH facility.

Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety and experimental procedures to work both within a team and independently to generate reliable data in a timely manner.

• Work as part of a team with daily and weekly cadence in a high throughput analytical laboratory.

• Strong communication skills with customers, technical leads, and service organization and ability to define customer requirements and appropriate priority.

• Assist in development of new test methods and processes as needed.

• Equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Validation testing, researching and specifying new lab equipment needs.

Qualifications: 

• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering Technology, or related program of study.

• 0-3 years of Analytical Lab Experience.

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, sales, project management, or similar that provides experience interacting with customers to answer their inquiries.

• Technical lab training or experience with multiple equipment such as with 2 more of these examples or similar: ICP Spectroscopy; FTIR Spectroscopy; pH measurements; Ion selective electrode (ISE) applications; Titrations; Gas Chromatography; UV-VIS/Colorimetry; and Optical and Scanning Electron Microscopy or similar. 

• Basic proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and excellent attention to detail.

• Limited Travel domestically.
