The Technical Architect plays a critical role in designing and implementing enterprise solutions that drive business success. This position collaborates with internal IT teams, business leaders, and external vendors to develop and support technology architectures that enhance operational efficiency. The role encompasses technical analysis, system design, software development, and application support while ensuring security, scalability, and best practices.
As a Technical Architect, you will be responsible for building roadmaps, proof of concepts, and integration strategies while mentoring junior developers and establishing coding standards. You will also oversee the end-to-end implementation and support of various IT systems, including defining non-functional requirements, creating technical architectures, developing technical specifications, and leading solution implementation. A significant focus will be on integrating data from multiple sources into the ServiceNow platform and other enterprise applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise & Retail Technology Solutions
- Design and architect integrations between IT systems, applications, and enterprise platforms.
- Provide expertise in customer engagement technologies such as CRM, marketing automation, and personalization strategies.
- Develop solutions supporting eCommerce operations, omnichannel order fulfillment, and digital retail experiences.
- Implement email, SMS, and push notification strategies for customer communication and engagement.
- Enhance inventory management capabilities through real-time tracking, stock reconciliation, and fulfillment optimization.
- Support the architecture of loyalty and rewards programs to drive customer retention and engagement.
- Define and optimize Point of Sale (POS) systems, ensuring seamless transactions, security, and hardware/software integration.
Technical Strategy & Development
- Lead the architecture of applications built on Oracle Cloud solutions, including:
- Oracle Apex for low-code application development.
- CRM and loyalty programs.
- Oracle Order Management for eCommerce fulfillment.
- Oracle SIOCS for store inventory operations.
- Oracle Xoffice & Xstore for POS and back-office solutions.
- Utilize ETL and data integration tools such as Informatica for efficient data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain portal solutions, API gateways, and middleware for system integrations.
- Use GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
Vendor & Third-Party Technology Management
- Manage integrations with logistics and fulfillment platforms such as Bringg for last-mile delivery.
- Ensure security and compliance through OneTrust (data privacy) and Checkpoint (loss prevention).
- Oversee retail technology solutions, including Datascan for inventory audits and Proship for shipping logistics.
- Work with enterprise SaaS platforms, including ServiceNow (ITSM), Workday (HR/Finance), SalesForce (CRM), and Radial (Order Management).
- Drive omnichannel marketing strategies leveraging tools like Vibes (SMS marketing) and Heady (mobile development).
Business Process Improvement & Leadership
- Lead and participate in the Solutions Architect Review Board (SARB) for evaluating proof-of-concept solutions.
- Train and mentor business users and IT team members on platform capabilities, system updates, and best practices.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend automation strategies to enhance efficiency.
- Define technical requirements, approve specifications, and support testing and quality assurance efforts.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies to optimize IT operations.
Operational Support & Governance
- Ensure technology assets are protected through effective internal controls and security protocols.
- Support IT applications across multiple departments, managing production and project workstreams.
- Perform on-call duties to address technical issues and maintain system stability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT architecture, system development, and application support.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end IT solution implementations in a retail or enterprise environment.
- Strong background in technical architecture, system integrations, and data modeling.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience with enterprise retail technology solutions, omnichannel integrations, and data-driven decision-making.
