Job Description
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs research and evaluation of accounting issues, new business events, transactions, and contracts to assess their impact on the Company's financial statements, including documenting the accounting and reporting treatment, as needed.
- Monitors proposed and newly issued Accounting Standards. Performs impact assessment, implements the new accounting standards, and documents the impact to the Company’s financial statements, processes and procedures.
- Manages the process to update P&Ps with the various P&P owners and develop and finalize required P&Ps, including updating or develops P&Ps associated with new accounting standards and other Technical Accounting P&Ps.
- Help develop, schedule, coordinate, plan, project manage and execute assigned initiatives on the Finance Engagement Plan (examples include the Finance intern program, community service initiatives, offsites and townhalls, in-person events).
- Develop presentations for executive level meetings.
- Successfully lead, manage and coordinate cross-functional projects.
- Develop and execute change management, training and communications for Finance initiatives.
- Exercise excellent professional judgment and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business related field required
- 7+ Years required, or 6 years required with a Master’s degree required
- 4+ Years experience interpreting and assessing technical accounting issues required
- CPA required
- Experience writing and implementing finance and accounting P&Ps preferred.
- Experience in the energy industry is considered an asset.
- Advanced computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Sharepoint).
- Professional manner and value confidentiality in all dealings.
- Confident, detail orientated, and enthusiastic team player.
- Superior interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills.
- Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities, taking on new responsibilities as required.
We offer a competitive salary range of $103,500 to $141,250 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
