About the role

As VDI Tech specialist, with experience on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Nerdio. you will design and implement innovative and user-friendly virtual desktop solutions that enhance the employee experience and productivity. You will leverage your strong technical skills and experience AVD and Nerdio deliver solutions that are aligned with our global strategy and standards. You will also work with customers across different locations, understanding their requirements and challenges, and providing them with solutions that meet and exceed their expectations.

You will also be responsible for the integration and operation of the virtual desktop solutions with other applications and features. You will collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure a seamless and consistent user experience across the VDI environment. You will also provide technical training and mentoring to Managed Service Providers.

Key responsibilities

• Be responsible for the engineering of VDI solution based on Azure Virtual Desktop and Nerdio, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
• Designing, implementing and optimising complex virtual desktop environments on Azure Virtual Desktop, Nerdio, Windows 365 technologies.
• You will be working with customers and product owners to understand their business and technical requirements to design solutions that provide them with a flexible, scalable, and user-friendly virtual desktop experience.
• Leading work-streams on transformational programs and ensuring conformance to agreed design standards, methods, and tools, including prototyping new tools and applications where appropriate.
• Follow product management best practices with customer value at the heart of robust design & implementation decisions.

Qualifications and skills

Essential

We are seeking candidates with

• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Implementing, Configuring, Testing, Migrating & Securing VDI Platforms.
• Hands-On Experience with AVD, Windows 365, Nerdio, FSlogix, Application layering platform like app attach, flex-app, knowledge of AVD management through Intune is plus.
• Experience working with external vendors to successfully manage systems.
• Experience with Nexthink, or other similar DEX platforms to optimise the end user experience. 
• Fluency with Security and compliance of SaaS platforms.
• Scripting skills – PowerShell
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to describe complex & abstract technical simply.
• Ability to influence outcomes and gain buy-in for new initiatives and ways of working. 
• Effective product mindset, with capability to advocate and drive key product innovations or opportunities with the developer community. 

Preferred

• Understanding of networking connectivity including firewalls and DNS. 
• Proven ability to work effectively in cross functional teams.
