Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead - Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Master Data Operations to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our master data team, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of master data across the organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and application of principles, theories, and concepts essential for effective master data management, along with complete knowledge of all job functions and broad industry best practices, techniques, and standards. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for effective communication within our diverse team.

Responsibilities:

Team Management:

  • Assist Area Manager in coordinate, coach, and mentor a team of master data specialists.
  • Help the team to achieve the objectives and performance expectations for them, ensuring alignment with management and organizational goals.
  • Provide regular coaching and constructive feedback to the team.

Master Data Management:

  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and quality assurance of master data records, ensuring alignment with management and organizational goals.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures that support management and organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with data standards and regulations.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the master data management process, in line with management and organizational goals.
  • Implement best practices to streamline data entry, validation, and maintenance processes.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate data quality metrics to drive improvements aligned with management and organizational objectives.
  • Develop solutions to complex problems where analysis of situations and/or data requires in-depth evaluation of variables.
  • Determine the best approach to achieve results and provide suggestions to improve policies and procedures.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with your direct manager and other leadership within the organization to develop and implement data governance policies and procedures that support management and organizational goals.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand data requirements and priorities.
  • Act as a liaison between the master data team and other business units, ensuring alignment with management and organizational objectives.
  • Provide support and guidance to ensure data-related projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Support management by providing comprehensive data analysis and insights to facilitate strategic decision-making.

Training and Development:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for master data specialists, focusing on skills and knowledge that support management and organizational goals.
  • Keep the team updated on changes to data governance policies and procedures.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Previous experience (5 years) in a master data management role, with proven experience in data governance and data quality management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills is desired.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data management tools and software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
