JOB PURPOSE

This position provides visionary leadership to the art department, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence. It sets the creative vision and direction for projects to ensure the highest standards of visual output. Additionally, the role establishes and maintains art department standards for production, quality, and customer service. By driving innovation and strategic initiatives, it aligns creative efforts with broader organizational goals.

SCOPE OF AUTHORITY

Financial: N/A

Non-Financial: Staffing, training, performance appraisal

Responsibility

Strategic Leadership (25%)

  • Define and implement the creative vision for projects and campaigns, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term branding and marketing strategies.
  • Evaluate and refine processes to improve the efficiency and quality of the creative department.
  • Oversee the conceptualization and execution of all creative projects.

Creative Development (50%)

  • Review and approve final layouts, designs, and concepts to ensure they meet the brand’s standards.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive and impactful communication strategies.

Team Leadership (20%)

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise creative team members to maximize their potential.
  • Delegate projects effectively, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Provide constructive feedback and foster a collaborative work environment.

Continuous Improvement (5%)

  • Stay updated on the latest design trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Seek opportunities to elevate the team’s creative output and operational efficiency

COMMUNICATION & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal departments: Divisions, HR-Admin, IT, Q&L

External: US/Canadian/European branches

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Certification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.

Background

Extensive experience in the advertising or creative industry, with a track record of successful leadership

Experience

  • 2+ years of professional experience in creative leadership roles, such as Art Director or similar.
  • Proven expertise in logo design, typography, web layout design, print production, and integrated campaigns.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects, from concept to execution.

Personal qualities

  • Inspirational leader with a passion for design and continuous improvement.
  • Adaptable, open-minded, and forward-thinking.
  • Resilient under pressure with a strong focus on delivering quality results.
  • Tech-savvy and informed about industry trends.

Knowledge

  • Mastery of graphic design tools and software (Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
  • Advanced understanding of photography, video production, motion graphics, and digital media.
  • Strong grasp of design principles, branding, and marketing strategies across multiple mediums (print, digital, mobile).
  • Familiarity with emerging trends in design, technology, and consumer behavior.

  • Exceptional creative vision with the ability to translate complex ideas into cohesive campaigns.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Advanced project management skills, including budget management and resource allocation.
