The Manager of Tax and Treasury is responsible for overseeing the company’s tax compliance, planning, and reporting functions, as well as managing its treasury operations to ensure efficient liquidity management, risk mitigation, and alignment with strategic objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of tax regulations, financial risk management, cash flow forecasting, and banking relationships.

This role reports into the Controller, is based in NYC where you will be expected in the office three days a week, at minimum.

Responsibilities  

Tax Management:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and timely filing of tax returns.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax efficiency.
  • Oversee tax audits and manage correspondence with tax authorities.
  • Stay updated on tax law changes and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.

Treasury Management:

  • Oversee the company’s cash flow, liquidity, and funding requirements.
  • Develop and implement treasury policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Manage banking relationships, including negotiating fees, credit facilities, and terms.
  • Forecast cash flow to ensure the company meets its operational and investment needs.

Qualifications  

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
  • 5 + years of progressive experience in tax and treasury roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and treasury management principles.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, and tax planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and treasury management software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Accuracy and timeliness of tax filings and reports.
  • Efficiency in managing cash flow and liquidity.
  • Risk mitigation related to financial exposures.
  • Achievement of tax savings through strategic planning.
  • Strength and effectiveness of team performance and leadership.

What We Offer  

$150,000/yr - $170,000/yr.  Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus plan based on individual and company performance.
