Job Description Summary

Responsible for managing the organization's tax compliance, planning, and reporting activities. Preparing tax returns, conducting tax research, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Report to the financial supervisor and collaborate with various departments to optimize tax strategies and minimize liabilities.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and submit federal, state, and local tax returns in an accurate and timely manner.

• Conduct in-depth tax research to ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations.

• Analyse financial statements and other documents to identify potential tax issues and opportunities.

• Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities.

• Monitoring changes in tax legislation and assessing their impact on the organization.

• Respond to tax-related inquiries and communicate with tax authorities when necessary.

• Keep detailed and accurate tax and accounting records.

• Support internal and external audits by providing tax-related information and documentation.

• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting.

• Manage and coordinate the type of movements in each of the general ledger accounts.

• Managing and monitoring the status of the general ledger accounts and ensuring proper support for the movements made.

• Providing monthly reconciliations.

• Providing guidance and training to other team members on tax matters.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in: Finance, Accounting, Management, or related field required. Master´s degree highly desired.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.

• Minimum of 5 years related work experience in Accounting.

• Experience in the automotive industry or related field preferred.

• Good Knowledge of SAP ERP Systems.

• Knowledge of international accounting standards, such as US GAAP and SOX, will be considered a plus.

• Must have intermediate- to advanced-level software skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills required.

• Good English language skills (spoken and written).

• Proficiency level Portuguese (spoken and written).
